William Strawn Godfrey, MD

William S. Godfrey, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement and revision surgery. An Atlanta native, he attended Georgia Tech for undergraduate studies before earning his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where he graduated with honors and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha.

Dr. Godfrey completed orthopedic surgery residency at Emory University, where he developed a focused interest in adult reconstruction and complex joint replacement. He then completed fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, in Boston.

His practice includes primary hip and knee replacement, revision hip and knee replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, robotic-assisted knee replacement, and care for patients with failed or painful prior joint replacements. Dr. Godfrey emphasizes careful preoperative planning, clear communication, and recovery pathways built around each patient's goals.
