About the Provider
Dr. Lobel is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine.
After earning his medical degree from Saint George’s University, Dr. Lobel completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Virginia, Roanoke. He was chief resident in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk. His fellowship training was with Emory University’s Pain Medicine Fellowship Program, Atlanta, Georgia. In 2006, he served as the Assistant Program Director, Georgia Pain Physicians, training the final ACGME certified fellows from Emory University’s PM&R Pain Medicine Fellowship Program.
Dr. Lobel’s research has centered on acromioclavicular joint injuries and spinal cord stimulation for failed back surgery syndrome. He has also researched Levaquin misuse in emergency departments. He is a member of the American Pain Society, Medical Association of Georgia, International Spinal Intervention Society, and the American Medical Association and has clinical interests in complex regional pain syndrome (RSD), sacroiliac joint pain, failed back surgery syndrome, and spinal arthritis.
When not in the Spine Center, Dr. Lobel enjoys hiking the Georgia mountains with his family, mountain biking, and automobile racing.
