Stephen S Salmieri, DO

Dr. Stephen Salmieri is a highly experienced and board-certified gynecologic oncologist. His commitment to exceptional patient care has garnered him a number of recognitions and awards, including Patients’ Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor (2016-2020) and was recognized as one of America’s Most Honored Professionals - Top 1% (2018-2020). Dr. Salmieri is a medical school graduate of Des Moines University and completed a fellowship in advanced pelvic surgery at The Cleveland Clinic. He then went on to complete a fellowship in gynecologic oncology with Southeastern Gynecologic Oncology and Northside Hospital.

As a gynecologic oncologist, Dr. Salmieri is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of pre-cancerous conditions and carcinoma of the uterus, ovaries, cervix, vagina, vulva, and other gynecologic diseases which includes: bladder prolapse, severe endometriosis, and fibroids. A gynecologic oncologist is fully trained as an Ob/Gyn and continues their education with additional pelvic surgery training and full training in oncology.

Dr. Salmieri was the first physician in both Gwinnett and Forsyth counties to perform GYN robot-assisted surgery using the da Vinci robotic surgical system. Due to his expertise in this specialized surgery, he also trains and proctors local physicians and fellowship trainees.
