About the Provider
Shibandri Das, MD, is a board-certified fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, ocular hypertension and glaucoma surgery. Her clinical expertise includes refractive cataract surgery, ocular hypertension and glaucoma evaluation and treatment including drug retention devices and laser procedures, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) with stents, goniotomy and canaloplasty, minimally invasive bleb surgery (MIBS) such as Xen Gel Stent, as well as advanced tube shunt and trabeculectomy surgeries.
Dr. Das is dedicated to preserving and restoring vision through compassionate, personalized care. With advanced fellowship training in glaucoma, she combines the latest medical and surgical treatments with a patient-centered approach, taking time to listen, educate, and involve patients in decisions about their eye health. She values building lasting relationships with her patients and finds it especially rewarding to help them maintain their vision and quality of life.
Dr. Das graduated with honors and distinction from The University of Chicago earing the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa award. She earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her Ophthalmology residency at Kresge Eye Institute in Michigan and a competitive fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and actively serves as an author for Glaucoma Today. She jointed Atlanta Ophthalmology Associates in 2026 and enjoys spending time with her husband and extended family here in Atlanta, watching sports games and exploring new restaurants, and traveling to new countries.
