Shaya Taghechian, MD

Atlanta native Dr. Shaya Taghechian earned her bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry and her medical degree from Emory University, followed by a surgery and urology residency at the University of Texas in Houston. She joined Georgia Urology in 2011.

Dr. Taghechian specializes in prostate health, female urology, urinary control issues, sexual dysfunction, and both surgical and non-surgical labiaplasty. Her expertise has helped expand Georgia Urology’s services into gynecologic aesthetics and women’s sexual health. She has been recognized as an Atlanta Top Doctor since 2019 and is a designated Bulkamid Center of Excellence by Axonics, Inc., reflecting her skill and positive patient outcomes in treating stress urinary incontinence.

Known for her patient-centered care, Dr. Taghechian takes time to create individualized treatment plans and values the dedication of her medical team. She is a member of the American Urological Association and holds staff privileges at Northside Cherokee Hospital.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her two children and extended family.
