Saresh Akmal, MD

Dr. Saresh Akmal is a board-certified family medicine physician dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. She has a wide range of clinical interests, including obesity medicine, women’s health, pediatrics and mental health. Dr. Akmal offers a wide range of services and procedures to pediatric and adult patients.

Guided by her philosophy of treating every patient like family, Dr. Akmal is committed to building strong, trusting relationships and making a positive difference in the lives of those she serves. Her approachable nature, shaped by her background and upbringing, allows her to connect with and relate to patients from all walks of life.

Dr. Akmal earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, and completed her residency in family medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and has been recognized with the Gold Humanism Award and Resident Teacher of the Year.

Dr. Akmal enjoys spending her free time with family, exploring new foods and staying active.
