About Monica Clare Marie Bertram

About the Provider

Monica Bertram, FNP-C is a Family Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified (FNP-C) with a Masters of Science in Nursing Degree from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. She received her Masters Degree in 1998.

Mrs. Bertram grew up in Kentucky and attended Northern Kentucky University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree in 1984. She also received additional specialty training in 1992 through the Medical College of Georgia, attending graduate courses in Geriatrics provided through the Masters of Science Geriatrics Nursing Program.

While a student in Nursing, Mrs. Bertram spent time with a Nurse Practitioner working in a local clinic. That experience, along with being a Home Health Nurse, inspired her to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. “I love working one on one with patients to provide individualized care to prevent illness and to help patients achieve their personal health goals,” says Mr. Bertram. “It is important to provide an environment that it empathetic so that the patient is comfortable. I believe that patients are entitled to quality, compassionate, consistent medical care.”

In over 20 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Mrs. Bertram has been a valuable member of Dr. West’s medical practice since 2008. Working side by side as a medical team, Dr. West and Mrs. Bertram provide family medical care for their patients with an emphasis on health and wellness, as well as management of a variety of chronic medical conditions, such as hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and diabetes.

Mrs. Bertram is an important reason that the Practice has been cited for excellence with numerous awards, including Best of Gwinnett by Gwinnett Magazine for many consecutive years. In addition, she has been cited individually with Outstanding Senior Nursing Award, Visiting Nurse Association Nurse Employee of the Year Award, and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.

Nurse Practitioners are valuable members of the health care team, working in collaboration with their supervising physicians. This team approach is essential to providing quality patient care. “Our patients can rely on this collaboration between Dr. West and myself to ensure the best medical care possible.”

Mrs. Bertram appreciates the loyalty of our patients and she looks forward to continuing to provide quality medical care with Dr. West for many years to come.
