Kimberly Franzen Lairet, MD

Dr. Kimberly Lairet is a board-certified physician in General Surgery who specializes in the diagnosis and surgical management of breast cancer and breast-related disorders. She has been in practice since 2008, and is the founder of North Atlanta Breast Care. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, she is honored to have been selected as a Castle Connolly and Atlanta Magazine “Top Doctor” 2020-present, after being nominated by her peers. Dr. Lairet thinks of her patients as family, and treats them accordingly.

A native of Nebraska, Dr. Lairet completed her undergraduate education in biological sciences and psychology at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois before returning to Omaha for medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. For her outstanding academic accomplishments, service, and leadership, Dr. Lairet graduated with distinction, and was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After graduation from medical school, Dr. Lairet entered the United States Army, and trained at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio Texas, completing both her surgical internship and residency in General Surgery. She subsequently served as a trauma and general surgeon in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and was stationed at the US Army Institute of Surgical Research. She has published numerous research articles in peer reviewed medical journals.

Dr. Lairet was honorably discharged from the military in 2012 as a decorated Major, and moved to the Atlanta area. She subsequently entered into private practice in Johns Creek, where she was able to focus on her passion of breast surgery. She founded North Atlanta Breast Care in 2016 to serve the Cumming community with comprehensive, state-of-the-art breast care. She is a member of the Northside Hospital Breast Care Committee, Quality Improvement Committee, and actively participates in the Northside multidisciplinary breast tumor conference.

Outside of the hospital, she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, golf and Latin ballroom dancing with her husband.
