Hyacinth Thomas, CNP

Hyacinth Thomas is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (DCES). She completed her Masters of Science in Nursing from University of North Carolina Charlotte.

She has worked as a Certified Diabetes Educator and then as a nurse practitioner, managing patients with diabetes and other metabolic diseases for over 28 years. In 2000, she was instrumental in the development of the first Recognized Center of Excellence for diabetes care in Shelby, North Carolina, attracting hundreds of patients. Over the years, she has coordinated diabetes education programs in 3 states, Florida, North Carolina and Georgia, and obtained recognition by the American Diabetes Association for all of them.

Hyacinth brings a wealth of experience in the management of patients with diabetes to NGDE. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association and a member of the distinguished Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists.
