Frances Yifan Hu, MD

Dr. Frances Hu is a board-certified general surgeon with advanced fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery. She focuses on minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures, with clinical interests including colorectal cancer, diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and rectal prolapse.

Dr. Hu completed her general surgery residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, followed by a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. This extensive training equipped her to care for the full range of colon and rectal conditions.

Her approach to care centers on delivering high-quality treatment through meaningful, collaborative relationships with her patients and their support systems. She values shared decision-making and works with patients to create evidence-based treatment plans tailored to their individual needs and goals.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Hu enjoys running, exploring new cuisines, traveling and spending time with her family.
